The Audi A1 is the smallest car in Audi’s range. The first version launched in 2010, and the new A1 builds upon the success of the original.
While only one engine is available, the 30 TSI 1.0-litre, it still provides a zippy ride thanks to the turbocharger. And although it’s not the fastest small car around, it is certainly nothing to complain about.
The ride is smooth and controlled, especially for a smaller car, and the suspension is excellent. Motorway driving is smooth and incredibly calm, and the car provides good handling. In all, it’s a very composed and well-balanced vehicle.
It is also packed full of safety features. For a start, it’s got six airbags as standard, and it also has the Electronic Stability Program (ESP), while halogen headlights provide fantastic visibility. Overall, it’s a stylish, attractive and powerful small car that is a joy to drive.
